Does your home or office smell like a musty, clammy crawlspace?

Indoor Air Quality Testing (IAQ) is one method for assessing the quality of the air that you breathe. In many homes, the damp air from the crawl space can work its way through cracks and gaps in the building materials and into the breathing space of the home. When this happens, the musty odor from the wet soil can cause unpleasant smells inside the home. If there is mold in a crawlspace, there is a chance that those mold spores could circulate into the home and cause negative health effects. If anyone in your home is suffering from irritation in their respiratory system, itchy eyes, runny nose, or headaches, you may have a mold-related air quality issue.

Environix has expert advice for your situation. Please contact us today to determine if Indoor Air Quality testing is right for you.

Vapor Barrier is your first line of defense for protecting the longevity of your home from the ground up.

Have you checked the vapor barrier in your crawl space lately? Was it torn or damaged by rodents? Let Environix clean-up the situation for you.

Vapor Barrier is your first line of defense for protecting the longevity of your home from the ground up. If your vapor barrier is torn or damaged, your home is in danger of significant moisture damage, wood rot, or mold damage. In addition, Seattle vapor barriers keep wet soil from causing musty odors in the crawl space or in the home. A high-quality vapor barrier that is sealed and attached to your foundation is not something you want to entrust to the lowest bidder. If you want it done right, and you want the work to be covered under our warranty, call Environix.

Vapor Barrier is required as part of code for new home construction in Washington State. If you want headaches, call the other guys. If you want it done right, cal Environix.

If your home is typical of most homes that Environix inspects, your inside air is affected by dirty air in your crawlspace.

A clean home begins with a clean crawlspace. If your home is typical of most homes that Environix inspects, air from your crawlspace will be drawn into your home, and rise up through the upper floors to be exhausted through the ventilation in your roof. If you have compromised air quality in your crawlspace, this will affect the livability and health of the entire home.

Most homes do not need laboratory testing for crawlspace mold as it is visible to any qualified inspector. Our staff will provide recommendations for sealing air leaks between the crawlspace and the remainder of the home. This will increase the energy efficiency of your HVAC system and will also significantly decrease the potential for bringing allergens from the crawlspace into your breathing space.

Do you have a question for our home energy and crawlspace experts? Drop us a line using the contact form on the right.
