Should I have my crawl space tested for mold?

A clean home begins with a clean crawlspace. If your home is typical of most homes that Environix inspects, air from your crawlspace will be drawn into your home, and rise up through the upper floors to be exhausted through the ventilation in your roof. If you have compromised air quality in your crawlspace, this will affect the livability and health of the entire home.
Most homes do not need laboratory testing for crawlspace mold as it is visible to any qualified inspector. Our staff will provide recommendations for sealing air leaks between the crawlspace and the remainder of the home. This will increase the energy efficiency of your HVAC system and will also significantly decrease the potential for bringing allergens from the crawlspace into your breathing space.
